Does going to the "slow qsk" mode help? I think you are experiencing the typical audio derived agc syndrome. When coming off mute, the rx gain is at max since the agc hasn't had time to react to the

Maybe Joel, but I did have it with my Corsair II and with my previous three OMNI's (all with audio derived AGC). It isn't as apparent when the band is not full of strong signals, but in a contest it
