- Problem solved. A 4.7uF capacitor had been fitted at C54 on the IF/AF board instead of 1uF. It looks like it was there from new. The previous owner didn't use CW so he'd not noticed! 73, Steve G3TXQ

- Good show! It is harder to find a wrong component than a faulty one. You will surely enjoy the Corsair. It is a classic. I have a Paragon, Scout, and original Corsair. The Corsair is my preferred CW

- Bob, You're right - diagnosing a wrong-value component was more difficult than a faulty one. One of my problems was that there is no parts layout diagram for the board, so even when I discovered a 4.

- Steve: Yes, my on-off switch burned up a couple of years ago, but I haven;t replaced it because I don't feel like pulling the front panel off. I use the switch on the power supply anyway. Maybe somed
