Not sure if this is normal or not... but when I switch the meter on my Corsair II to the "Ic" position and put the rig into Lock mode, the needle jumps around a lot and never settles. It never stays

The fluctuation of current could be the power drawn, being more than the supply can deliver continuously. It could be that capacitors in the supply are old and drying out, cutting the current rating.

Andrew.... If I'm not mistaken you said the meter is steady in the Power Out and SWR positions. That being the case, I'd suspect a dirty contact on the meter switch. Why not clean them and see? Phil

That would be the first place I would look. I've also had problems with the Corsair II current metering; in each case it turned out to be nothing wrong with the signal chain - just the metering. Stev
