I don't have an Orion, or any other rig with dual receivers. I have had the opportunity to use an Elecraft K3 with dual receivers, both on the same frequency, using separate antennas. That setup has

I've used both my Orion and K3 extensively in stereo diversity mode. To be honest, I never even notice the frequency discrepancy in the Orion receivers. Plenty of soundclips at http://n1eu.com/orion/

I have talked to guys who say the O1 was closer and in fact my 565 seemed to be more like 3 hz apart - I have had two 566 O's in the shack and they were both off 5 plus fractional hz. I never worked

Ken and others, Having phased locked VFOs is very handy, but the QST article on the K3 was a little miss leading, there are other radios with phased locked identical receivers, such as the Flex 5000.
