Hi, I hooked up my Swan Linear to my OMNI-VI and had some RF in the shack when using my Windom antenna which I cured by installing a couple of 1:1 baluns in the coax feed line, but I still have one p

Chas, I had the same problem when I lived in Florida. No outside antennas allowed so my antenna farm has hidden in the attic. Every time I ran the amplifier on 40 meters, the bathroom GFI would trip.

Happens to one of my GFI circuits when my antenna tuner arcs!!! Why does it arc? Probably running too much power and feeding at the voltage point. I use open wire feeders to a 270 foot flat-top. Geor

Hello Charles, GFI breakers are very sensitive, and can trip from induced current if you have just a long circuit attached to it (I think they're spec'ed to be OK up to 100' (or 150' - I forget the e

Yep - this is quite common, especially as you go lower in frequency. I could trip mine with about 300 watts on 160m. 1500 on 80m and never had enough suds to trip it on 40 or higher bands. 73 Jason N

Yup, every time I light up on the Omni-D barefoot on 40m I smoke the GFI in the back room. That'd be on a coil loaded vertical. GFI's don't like RF much at all, even a fluorescent light popping on an

When I fired up my Titan, I had a problem with one GFI in my bathroom and another in the kitchen. The one in the bathroom actually failed, so I changed it out and now it's fine. The one in the kitche
