I burned up a capacitor in the low pass filter of my Hercules 2 amplifier. According to the schematic it is C42 with a value of "100". I'd like to replace it. Is "100" the value on the schematic in P

Schematics do not give a parts description and do not use what you took out, maybe someone replaced the original with the wrong component.  Go to parts list in manual and if not listed call TT.   Geo

On the Schematic.... Does it read something like ... All values in Pf unless otherwise specified? Since the Cap is a Big Yellow Disc, my Best Guess is that it is 100 PF and because it is Big .... it

Phil - It's the big yellow one in the 20 meter LPF. If you look at the board from the ten meter LPF end, it's the one on the left on the 20 meter LPF. There is a small blue one to the left of it and

Hello John, I had a look at the schematic and it seems to be an 100 PF Capacitor. Your original message said that the Circuit Board location is C42. And that it is on the LPF Board. This is where I lo

I would not be at all confident that the caps you found will work. There is the issue of equivalent series resistance -- ESR -- which dissipates power if the cap is carrying current, which it certain

At the 550W level the capacitor will have about 166v rms across it when looking into a matched load - on 20m that's 1.46A rms through the capacitor and 234v peak across it. Worst-case, if the load SW
