Some interesting comments from Bob Sherwood (Sherwood Engineering) speaking about the Orion II and the ICOM 7800: The newest narrow roofing filters became 600 and 300 Hz. Do you really need a 300 Hz

Unfortunately (or some might argue, fortunately), some of the really hard core CW contesters on this list are still using the Orion I, which we know has an issue with the two most narrow roofing fil

It is perhaps unfair to compare two rigs with such a price differential. You would expect the Icom 7800 to do some things better than the Orion. I have owned both and enjoyed both rigs very much. How

Yes, I know. That may well be. And I wouldn't posit otherwise. So even after it was redesigned to his spec, it's still "noisy". All I intended to do in my post was to ask the standard question of a

As an afterthought, why are all of Rob's Orion comments posted on the 7800 list? I don't believe I've ever seen him show up over here on the wrong side of the tracks :-) Grant/NQ5T _________________

Bill: Have you mentioned this to Dits 'n Bits? I noticed the same problem with the 2.037j update, but increasing the hang time seemed to fix the problem. BTW...I have updated my "Fix List" for things
