Have you tried putting a fresh 9V battery in the 705 mic? I assume you don't have an oscilloscope. 73, Barry N1EU _______________________________________________ TenTec mailing list TenTec@contesting

With voltages like that, it somewhat indicates that the elecrtolytics may need replacing. These are the coupling caps between stages. If the IC output drifts negative then the IC is reversed polarize

Thanks for the reply Bob. I was using the cabinet as gnd.  I will recheck voltages in the morning and use the board its self as gnd,or the negative dc input as gnd. That board is a bummer to get out,

No need Dave. I checked the voltages in my Corsair II and they are the same as your measured voltages. This is just one more case of the Corsair II manual being wrong. My transmit audio is fine with

The original description was a report of "low audio". In my thinking, this is really not likely however low power output is more likely if audio is not adequate. If audio gain in the system is inadeq

Looking at the schematics, the Paragon appears to have substantially (23dB?) more gain in the mic input circuit compared to the Corsair. Without an oscilloscope, without another high output mic or mi

Of course. That's the difference between a Hi-Z mic and a Lo-Z mic. And nearly all mics sold for use with ham gear are Lo-Z mics. There's nothing wrong with increasing the gain to accommodate the low
