I realize that this subject has been beaten to death, but here goes: I recently acquired a Ten Tec Corsair, my first Ten Tec, and you all have said in the past, the NB has no effect at all in the Cor

Heck, it works. It just doesn't work on a very wide variety of noise pulses. I've taken advantage of mine on occasion, it certainly took out automobile ignition noise pretty well, but many other nois

As the person who first lovingly called the Corsair noise blanker a "decorative knob" back in 1984, I will jump in. The Corsair noise blanker actually does work. It just does not seem as effective as

The best thing I did with the Corsair was to get an ANC-4 noise canceller. That little unit took a little fiddling, but it took out much noise, power lines, ignition and even some of the atmospherics

I also have an ANC-4. It reduced the local noise here by about 90%. We live in an older neighborhood with lots of ancient transformers and other electrical infrastructure. Very useful piece of equipm

The key to understanding what kind of noise a Noise Blanker works with is in the word "Blanker". Noise Blankers are triggered by noise pulses and blank all signal for some duration after the triggeri

Yes it does work, and quite well for its design. It mainly functions in high frequency, high amplitude noise 'spikes' such as automotive alternators. I have a neighbor with an older 'fixer-up'er' and

The blanker in my Corsair is somewhat effective on noise from arcing power line insulators. Seems to reduce ignition noise which is rare, usually neighbors leaf blower. It has no effect on atmospheri

I am surprised by those who are saying that the Corsair NB works well with ignition noise. Perhaps I am doing something wrong? Or else just different operating conditions? My Scout's NB does a much b

Yes, the noise blanker does work, but I would call it a "mild blanker". It does work, but it is not as effective as the Scout (best I've ever seen) and Paragon blankers. On the plus side, the Corsair

No, that is a problem. Check on the MFJ 1026, I think it had provisions for QSK (I have one but it is in the garage, I could tell you tomorrow). Clark WA3JPG _________________________________________
