Joe - What is the number on your logic eprom? Check the version of U4. There are two "U5s" in my manual. The one farthest from the Battery backup should be U4, not U5. It is LOGIC EPROM in the manual

Joe: If you check the TT archives from about 10-12 years ago, you'll see plenty of my posts on this subject. I spent about six months searching for the problem and ultimately came up with a solution

Paul - I understand T-T changed the transmit audio/BFO board crystal frequency adjustment from 9.000700 mHz to 9.000400 mHz. Apparently this was done as part of eliminating the small chirp. Moving th

Don, First, not every Omni VI/VI+ exhibits the chirp phenomenon -- either through evolutionary changes, or component tolerances that allowed some Omnis to sound just fine. Next, check your data as it

Well it seems that Don is very happy with the Logic EPROM version 1.02 solution, but Paul says it only partially masks the problem at the expense of QSK. What is the effect on QSK? I guess I will jus

Joe, I would experiment with both EPROMs and use the one that works best for you. If you are satisfied with the sound of the transmitted CW tone, then I would leave it alone. You may find that after

Don's input helped to shake some cobwebs loose... TT initially shifted the CW BFO from the USB crystal. Then, I believe in an effort to help eradicate the chirp, a later design shifted the LSB crysta
