- However, for their vacuum relay switched amps, like the 91b and 99, you can run the same TT keying loop as you would use for a TT amp, and the Alpha's switch beautifully that way. The web site method

- Here is how Alpha recommends running QSK with an Omni VI with their amps. http://www.alpharadioproducts.com/tentec.asp I have used this set up with an Alpha 89 and Omni VI+. 73, Alan N5NA dbp@tds.net

- I'm not sure why, suddenly, there is a perceived 'problem' with Ten Tec radios and/or amplifiers running full QSK? I have been doing QRQ CW for over 30 years with their equipment, running CW at speed

- You can install a second vacuum relay that most likely has the same pick time as the first relay and use this for the QSK timing. Or better yet use a relay that is just a tiny bit slower for the txen

- Carl and the Group, I agree that this is an excellent strategy if you have that illusive unused contact which usually does not exist in fast vacuum relays. Can you give me a supplier for a dpdt/spst

- Hank, Let TXOUT pick the antenna relay of your amplifier. Then also have TXOUT wired through an unused normally open contact of the amp antenna relay. Then bring TXOUT back to the Omni VI TXEN line t

- Lots of good comments on the reflector already, but I will pass along my observations. Getting an amplifier to close relays quickly enough is not a problem, maybe even without resorting to the vacuum

- Hi Rog, I ran a couple of QRO amps for several years with my Omni VI and VI+. The Omni VI has about a 10ms delay when you hit the first dit, until it actually applies RF. But it switches the T/R rela

- Yes it is and that is the reason one should use a PTT system to switch to transmit and not try to run a QSK system with a non-QSK amp. It's really hard on relays in the amp. 73 Bob, K4TAX ___________
