I recently purchased an Omni-C and fired it up this afternoon. What does the sidetone sound like on these rigs? This one has a rough sounding side tone even though I played with the tone and volume a

I don't think the Omni C uses any IC's in the sidetone. At least mine did not. It used a unijunction transistor oscillator very similar to that used in the Triton, Corsair, Argosy and possibly others
