I only use keyer speeds from 15 to 30 wpm. That is covered in about 1/8th of a turn on my Omni VI+ internal keyer pot. Has anyone found a way to spread the speeds out? Anyone know the value of that p

Hi John - Have not located the pot value on my OMNI 6+ schematic either. Now I'm as curious as you are. My pot covers over full two dial marks (55 degrees) between 15 and 30 wpm. Not much room for a

Once you've measured the values that set the limits of the speed range you wish, you should be able to use a fixed (or adjustable) series resistor to set the high and a resistor shunting the panel va

Hi Don - I have only had this rig for a couple of weeks and am trying to use the internal keyer to minimize the number of 'boxes' i have on the desk. I have gotten used to the timing or the internal

John - Right - my keyer is also kit made. Dave Bowker has suggested a sure way to measure the value of the pot, and a way to broaden the control's range. Give him a shout for the info he will give yo

Unless the "pot" is a digital encoder you surely can adjust end point and range with a resistor in series with the pot and another in shunt with the pot. To set the series resistor, wire it in and ru

All - I got a note from Paul saying the pot is 10K. Took off the front cover and there is plenty of room for a deeper control on the front panel. Unplugged connector D on the logic board. It already

John - Try a 5K 1/8 Watt resistor across the two outer lugs on the pot itself. This should stretch the range of the knob. Another and better way is to just use a 10-turn 10K pot. Just substitute it f

Don - Further investigation shows that all three wires - brown, white, red - go to connector D on the logic board. I put a 4.7K resistor between the brown and purple wires. It made no change in the k

John - Perhaps you should follow the instruction that Dr. Gerald N. Johnson has suggested. Obviously paralleling a resistor in this case doesn't seem to work. Guess Paul at T-T is correct. Too bad th
