I like to use my wife's hair dryer as a noise source. It has a noise characteristic that is a good one for most noise blankers. Carl Moreschi N4PY Franklinton, NC -- Original Message -- From: "Mark E

Mark, Usually my NB has an effect on powerline noise. Rarely it has NO effect on powerline noise. Depends on the pulse. My Icom 756P2 nicely portrays the noise on the Bandscope... very easily identif

Carl, Thanks. The hair dryer did the trick. The NB definitely knocked out that noise. Upon further investigation, the NB did reduce the powerline noise a little. I think I'm used to the NB on my old

Mark, My experience with the n.b. on my VI/3 has been that it works in some cases and not in others. I would think that any non-random pulsing noise would be the same but apparently that is not so. I

Depending on what type of noise, this can easily be normal. Noise blankers only work on pulse noise like from an electric motor or electric fence. Carl Moreschi N4PY 58 Hogwood Rd Louisburg, NC 27549

There is no Noise Blanker button for the Omni VI. Just engage the feature more or less using the pot. If your pushing the button to the left of the NB/SQL your attenuating -20dB. Regards Rich AA6VX -

The OM7's noise blanker originally was useless at eliminating short pulse noises such as static noise pulses or electronic fence pulses. I believe that was finally fixed in one of the last firmware u
