Hi Toshimi, You can adjust the delay of the TR relay. If you select a delay, then it is effectively semi BK and no longer QSK. This was added to the rig after the initial release so it probably was n

An interesting question. I wonder if the Orion and Orion 2 differ in this respect. On my Orion 2, I can use the CW delay to achieve semi-break-in, but I still hear the same relay clacking away. I exp

Correct Floyd, the CW delay makes the receiver audio quiet but does nothing for the relay clacking in both the Orion and Orion II. 73, Barry N1EU _______________________________________________ TenTe

Guys, I may be wrong, but I seem to remember that there were TWO adjustments; one for the relay and one for the RX recovery. It's been over 5 years since I have owned an Orion, but I'm pretty certain

There IS an EXT T/R Delay setting in the TX Menu but it has no effect on the keying relay clacking. Barry N1EU _______________________________________________ TenTec mailing list TenTec@contesting.co

That makes no sense at all. One would think that it adjusts the hang time of the Linear's own relay, and therefore the Orion's internal relay would have to stop clacking. There IS an EXT T/R Delay se

On the Orion II: If you go to: MENUS , TX, there is an EXT T/T Delay1 (or Delay 2) and that "provides "hang time" for non-QSK linear amplifier" If you go to: MENUS, CW, There is a CW QSK Delay that "

Indeed there is. But, on my Orion 2, even setting that to 100% results in still hearing a relay operate on every dot and dash. The issue isn't with implementing a delay or hold in keying the rig or e

Barry, if you delay those relays, they won't follow the cw keying and they won't clack. Right, but he's asking specifically about the audible relay clacking. Barry N1EU ______________________________
