I checked my NB button and I can switch the hardware NB on and off from the front with 2.037j. There were always some sort of keying artifacts that accompanied the side-tone, sort of a "click-clack"

Thanks to the several fellows who offered suggestions and advice. As it turns out, I needed some. Somehow, I must have pushed the sub receiver button (The dual NB function only works on the main rx).
