Ron, There do seem to be some processor overload issues, but I haven't noticed any tendency toward jumpy tuning. It seems smooth to me. I don't have the radios you mentioned, nor did I have an origin

I had the original Orion, seemed to me the tuning was great! Smooth feel, nice heavy knob. Nice feature=with one button press it switches to a higher speed tuing so you can go up/down real fast, then

step rates from 1 Hz to 100 kHz can be selected. That would give a tuning rate of 2.56 kHz per turn with 10 Hz steps, which is the largest I like to use for most operating. That's correct but there i

I should have added I am using the original Orion, not O2. They should be mechanically identical and processor speed for tuning is not an issue for either one. 73, Bill W4ZV _________________________

I never had any jumpy tuning with my Orion. I never had the Collins 380 or any of the TS stuff so I can't comment on that but I can say I didn't notice any adverse qualities about the tuning. I had t

I have both the TS870 and KWM-380. My Orion does not feel like either of these radios. Just a nice smooth control but not much of a "flywheel" effect! 73 David -- David H. Walker K0cop Aiken, SC ____

David, If you don't have much of a "flywheel" effect you need to loosen the tension on the knob. You may even have to loosen the knob on the shaft and slide it out a little to lessen the tension enou
