In listening to radios effected with the problem, outboard processing would have not changed the basic 'raspiness' we've been hearing, in fact it might make it sound subjectively worse. I don't have

Hi all, I'm one of those O2 users who have been getting consistently good reports, with no outboard equipment, using TT 706 and Yaesu MD-1B8 mikes. Except, that is, for the speech processor. It sound

Gene, I have pretty good reports. Especially with the wide setting on the Mic. Some folks seem to actually have a HW problem. Some have been sent back to TT (one I know has been there a month) Mine i

Gene brings up a good point. Audio equalizers are often mis-used to correct poor microphone response, or poor room acoustics or create some desirable effect apart from the natural. Personally, from e

I checked the frequency response using pink noise, and again the old-fashioned way with a sig gen, and found pretty much what I found before: - 1 dB @ 300 Hz -2 dB @ 200 Hz -4 dB @ 150 Hz -9 dB @ 100

Just how good is an Orion ll audio under close contest conditions VS my FT-1000MP Field with a roofing filter, and lots of other filters too. A change needs to be made. I got murdered during both ARR

I'd have to agree with Denny. The MkV Field with Inrad roofing filter is probably the next best to an Orion or Omni6/roofing filter combination. Phil, if you're getting "murdered" by overload with Mk
