Don, Hold user 2 in while turning the power on and this will put you into the firmware update mode, and then reload the firmware that you were using. This may be the only way to unlock the rig. Toby

I'd suggest you look at:     http://n6ie.com/A9_Fix.html The symptoms suggest the A9 board electrolytic capacitor failure.  An easy and inexpensive fix.  At a minimum, go for 105C rated capacitors.
