one should perform in order to perceive the meaning of "AGC OFF" on Orion? Sinisa, there are TWO AGC's in Orion. One is Analog AGC which CANNOT be turned off since it is ALWAYS ON to protect overdriv

Sounds like a theory. Have you really tried turning it off? What I see is the strongest possible AGC action with the threshold at/below noise level and 1000 dB/s. 73, Sinisa YT1NT, VA3TTN ___________

This good article doesn't help, neither analog nor digital AGC cannot be turned off at all. AGC OFF forces the following parameter values: hang = 0 decay = 1000 dB/s threshold = 0.37 uV Far from bei

but certainly cannot not be described as AGC OFF. You are 100% correct. I had never looked at the actual values since I never turn my AGC off but now I see what you mean. Perhaps they are attempting
