A friend of mine just asked me if I could identify a chip he'd recently found while straightening things in his shack. It's a 98161 EPROM Chip from a Paragon (for the RS-232 add-on board), labeled as

There were two different synthesier boards in the Paragon. The original paragons used a Version 3.xx chip that worked with the original synthesizer. The last year os paragons required a Version 4.00

That chip will not work in a recent Paragon and will definitely not work in a Paragon II. Check to see what chip is in your Paragon. If the version starts with a 3, that chip will not work in that pa
