I like the metal cased speakers that came with the Motorola Micor or Motrac for communications radios. A speaker exposing top and bottom ports at equal distance may actually reduce the sound at thee

Alan, The Paragon II audio bandwidth and fade controls seem to have more effect on the audio than the speaker. I get plenty of volume on my 962. Regards, Ed, N5EI ____________________________________
