I have a very nice 585 Paragon that I recently decided to run some RTTY with. I am connecting with a Kantronics KAM to the Mark/Space jack on the rear panel to run "true" FSK, and selecting RTTY (shi

To enable the FSK mode, press SHIFT and then CW. All mode indicators will be out. This provides 170 Hz shift with 2125/2295 Hz tones. I wonder if the stations you are having trouble receiving are usi

Thanks for the reply, Bob. I don't think it is a problem with the shift. My receive technique is usually to tune until the mark or space moves off the LED indicators on the KAM, note the frequencies,

Vic, Does your 200 Hz offset issue mean you run split or do you cover it with RIT? 73, Paul _______________________________________________ TenTec mailing list TenTec@contesting.com http://lists.cont

Hi Vic, Where is your PBT control set? Set it to about 3 o'clock and all should be okay, it's bitten more than one person.....me included. Get the digital filter if you're going to do a lot of RTTY..

Hi all, I am curious about this statement: I understand that "True FSK" transmit capability refers to either frequency shift keying a single oscillator, or switching between two oscillators in RF sta

I have just used the RIT to offset the receive when needed, Paul. Not a big problem at all and has, so far, only come up when working stations running AFSK. I need to make a few more contacts, perhap

Well, I took Stan's comment to mean they used the BFO for LSB to also serve for RTTY without allowing a different offset. That being said, a later direct comment from him said he had forgotten about

I use FSK with my Paragon and a Kantronics KAM. It works fine. To go to the RTTY mode, press SHIFT then CW. This should give the proper offsets. I run with the PBT centered with all filters except th
