I'm thinking about looking for a Paragon and I wonder what I should look for in one. I don't want to buy a Paragon and then discover that a later version had some feature that I can't add to it. For

Paul, It sounds to me like a relay on the bandpass filter board. I don't have a schematic in front of me, but I bet if you look at the bandpass filter board you'll find that the frequencies you menti

Paul-This problem is almost certainly related to the filter relays on the LPF board. Early Paragons used reed relays to select the LPFs, but this was a pretty expensive approach. As a result, in late

I replaced D12 on the HPF board with a 1N4148 diode from Radio Shack. The original is a glass silicon diode. Buck and a half for 10 of them. Seems to work OK now. I'll keep my fingers crossed. Paul K

The original was probably a PIN diode. That's what is in the Pegasus. I was told by Tentec that I could use a 1N914/1N4148 as temporary replacement but that I should eventually get the proper replace

KS2S sent me a copy of the high pass filter page for the Paragon. D12 is clearly shown as a 1N4148. D1 thru D8 are BA482. Not exactly a pin diode but close enough. Which PIN diode did the PEG use ? _
