I've tried them side by side, and found the "old" Orion II sub receiver quieter than the Yaesu Mk V, due to the O II's DSP NR. It would still benefit from a good roofing filter, though, so I plan to

I find the NR is not very good here on the OII. Also the NB causes lots of clicking sound when a strong signal is ...well maybe within 10 KC or so. I really wish it was better....so...I rarely find a

Hardware NB NOT NR... Why does it do this if we have a 2.4 (or whatever) front end roofing filter? Why is the signal that far away effecting NB? NR at any setting just does not seem to be worth much.
