The baud rate you set your comport at is overridden by the Orion update software. The Orion only works at 57600 baud. The speed you configure the comport to in your windows settings is meaningless. C

John, I guarentee you that was not the thing that made it work. All good programs set all the comport parameters themselves and do not rely on the user to set these things in the windows settings. Ca

Wonder were this 'good' software is; I've only had a few cases of using programs that set the ports. Personally, I do not want the software 'automatically' setting the parameters. Most 'ham' programs
Ron, How about doing a little experiment. Change the parameters on your windows settings for the Orion comport to 1200 baud. The Orion will only work at 57600 baud. Then run the Orion update program
