Thanks for all the replies I received regarding service for my Omni VI+. Let me say again as I have in the past... I love the Omni when it's working properly, but honestly, mine has been a dog since

Funny you should talk about frequency stability. My Omni 6+ is about a year old. During the day it sits on 14.230 copying SSTV pictures. Within the past month I noticed it stopped receiving pictures.

Yes, I agree. It IS annoying. And mine does the same thing. I took it back to Ten-Tec to have it put back on freq (which was right on the money when I got it, and was told that that was within specs.

I don't know about the Omni-VI but the best fix in an Omni-V was to buy a good freq. counter and learn to check and adjust it myself. Once you learn how to set the BFO and lo oscillators it doesn't t

Check you line voltage, it may be out of the spec for the DC supply. It is likely that the environment at TT is fairly well controled. Bill Ames KB1LG -- FAQ on WWW: http://www.contesting.com/tentecf

A la the TR7. Built in freq counter from 0-150 MHz, with external input. That would be nice in any TT rig! 73, Jim NØOCT -- FAQ on WWW: http://www.contesting.com/tentecfaq.htm Submissions: ten

Is't there a problem though ? Working split and keying at a decent speed would require the counter to make a measurement prett fast - or maybe simply not measure while sending. Lets see - if I was on

Hmmm, I don't have a separate VFO for the TR7, so I wouldn't know. Besides, the rig only runs semi-QSK. I would guess that you would just have to concentrate on something other than the display whils

The desire to display may be the deciding factor at TT though.... Really rough when the dispplayed frequency really isn't a full measurement. Hmmm, I don't have a separate VFO for the TR7, so I would

Hei I do have external VFO with TR7 and it works fine, The counter in TR7 is very fast no problem to read the freq correct. Of course the TR7 has only semi QSK... Now I can use it as a freq counter a

Well there you go, another reason to buy Ten*Tec. It'll give you something to do with that freq. counter in a TR-7! I always new there was a reason my dream shack had a Corsair II, Omni-V, and a TR-7
