Is it normal for the S meter to read about 4 to 5 S units less with the NR on? Doesn't seem to matter where the NR is set or what the AGC is set to. Thanks Greg AB7R

I've noticed that as well, so it appears to be "normal". Sent a note to T-T about it the other day. It may be that the code block that drives the S-meter gets the bits after NR processing in DSP, wh

Remember, S meters are a relative thing. The readings have little to do with the quality of the signal received. They make a nice tunning aid, but thats it. Wish they never put the darn things in rad
