I fail to understand what all this rafter shacking about S meter readings is all about. Both my Paragons are set to the paramiters are set correctly. As long as I point the ant in the proper directio

Hi Jim, When I started as WN6CFF in June 1970, my Hammarlund Super-Pro BC-779 had an S meter. It only goes up to 9 and it takes whopping signal to do that. Only VOA, Radio Moscow and Radio Nederland

It's all about accuracy and precision -- both at the same time. Now, if you *really* care, you'll calibrate your system to read in Janskys. *Then* you can compare results to each other. (1 Jy= 1E-26

hmmm... I thought it was 1x10^-26 watts per meter squared per hz = 1 Jy, but I'm quite old and stupid now, so you're probably right. Best for y2k+6 va7vv _____________________________________________

I think that's the same thing as I said but with different notation. per = /, 1x10 -26 = 1E-26 Text is inconvenient when doing math formulae. :-) Eric -- Eric F. Richards efricha@dim.com "The weird p
