Hi Allen: I have three Scout 555 units, and find no real gain in changing the power level except to reduce current drain on the portable batteries. I run my Scouts at 25 watts output most of the time

Ed Normally mine is left at 50w but the Scout will soon be my primary QRP radio too so being ble to switch to 5 and 10W respectively is importnt for me. Otherwise the 50w setting does a great job eve
