- Hi Allen: I have three Scout 555 units, and find no real gain in changing the power level except to reduce current drain on the portable batteries. I run my Scouts at 25 watts output most of the time

- Ed Normally mine is left at 50w but the Scout will soon be my primary QRP radio too so being ble to switch to 5 and 10W respectively is importnt for me. Otherwise the 50w setting does a great job eve
