Thanks for all the good information provided by all. I can drive the Omni VI+ fine with using the Ten-Tec PRO-777 headset and the 708 desk mic by running the mic gain full open. The problem is there

Geeze... I suggest you check with TT about that mic gain figure. I realize the 777 has significantly lower "open signal voltage" - i.e., lower output signal strength - compared to typical dynamic mic

Oh... I was afraid of that. Is there a line-in input on the Omni VI ? If so, maybe he could use a simple mic preamp to boost the mic signal to line-level, and then let the rig do its normal adjustmen
