Tom, For 100w, a good commercial 300 Ohm twinline will be sufficient. You can get this from THE WIREMAN, or RADIO WORKS. If you are ever going to run an amp, then I would go with the 450 Ohm window l

Tom, In a pinch, I have used Radio Shack's "heavy duty" 300-ohm twin-lead with power levels up to 500 watts. No problems. 73 Ray W2RS In a message dated 1/9/2011 5:07:40 P.M. GMT Standard Time, xring

But the TV grade line needs help in the support department. 22 gauge copper wires aren't strong enough to take the wind and ice load on the flat of the insulation. I figure on punching holes every 6

Ten Tec has a very nice center insulator for sale. It is made of clear plastic, and if I remember correctly, it also handles the ladder line. I got one, and it is around here someplace, for use at my

Yes, for long runs, that's a good suggestion. I do it too. I prefer the thin 1mm or 1.5mm Kevlar rope. It's thin and light, and doesn't stretch. It would be difficult to do this with the 300 Ohm line

Power handling really isn't an issue in this application. Connected to a multiband doublet, the SWR wont get much higher than 10:1 on 300 Ohm or 400 Ohm cable. That would put the maximum localised cu

I had more trouble with wind with TV twinlead over the past 39 years in central Iowa. Ice was harder on the 18 gauge copperweld open line. The wire simply snapped when a breeze flexed the feed line w

Guys, this is why I specifically stated to use a high quality 300 Ohm feedline. The Wireman sells stuff which uses stranded copperweld. (Radio Works too). It is a lot stronger than standard 300 Ohm T

The log formula has a tiny error at 600 ohms, but not enough to be concerned about. The inv cosh formula and the log formula agree closely at that impedance. A line the inv cosh formula says has 600
