For either portable or mobile use of the Ten Tec Scout, I bought some ice box, or drawer divider trays that are just the height of the modules, and about as tall. You can store the band modules verti

An occasional pause in sending, or applying the updates to the frequency correction circuits, should remove most issues of drift while in CW sending. The other solution is to use an external keyer, r

Try to get one with the noise blanker module option installed, helps for mobile use! My Argo-556 and Scout both work great mobile, I mount the Hustler on the roof of the car for best efficiency (rath

I used a Ten Tec Scout mobile in my 1997 Dodge truck from 1997 to about 2003 with a Texas Bugcatcher antenna. I stayed mostly on 17 meter phone, and I had great success with it. My wife and I used to

Heartily agree! The Scout NB is one of the best I've used. (p.s.= I have been running my pre-production Scout for over 15 years now CW mobile) Perry w8au _____________________________________________

Yes. If you can find one. I would estimate that most Scouts have them since the Scout was not that expensive and adding the NB did not add that much to the overall price. Hope you find one with the N

I might add that the noise blanker is excellent. Make sure that you get one with the blanker. 73, Bob WB2VUF _______________________________________________ TenTec mailing list TenTec@contesting.com

If you can't find one with the NB, it is possible to build one. It isn't too complex. 73, Bob WB2VUF _______________________________________________ TenTec mailing list TenTec@contesting.com http://l
