If you use the subreceiver often on the low bands, I think you might feel differently. The Orion subreceiver just can't handle the huge dynamic range typically found on low band cw. 73, Barry N1EU __

I haven't used the K3 on 160, but at K5GO used it on 80 meters with an assortment of beverages, a 4-square and a single vertical.  Diversity reception proved very helpful.  That's something we sadly

Most of us didn't know what the K3 had to do with the Orion or Ten-Tec when discussed on this board either except it seems for a while we had to endure months of articles about how superior the K3 is

Can't get out of an Orion? I've been using the Orion for stereo diversity reception for years on 160M-20M. There are a lot of soundclips on n1eu.com. It does a very good job, bearing the limitations
