Following the recent discussion of open wire feedlines, I've compiled a 3-page PDF with some useful details. The 70 KB file can be downloaded from: http://www.geocities.com/va3ttn Basic definitions a

Don't these numbers apply to "long" lines (many wavelengths and/or an exact multiple of a quarter wavelength)? I have been wondering about the following: If you have a short line, the loss should be

One of the reasons why I chose to use open wire feedline for one of my antennas, was that I could not get it big enough to use on the lowest frequency I wanted to operate on with it, and I read in th

The tables and the formula they are based on (may be found in ARRL Antenna Book) are valid for any length of line, and any degree of loss, provided the line is uniform. I was wondering just the same

Hi Martin, Actually, I did the math with intention of proving that the formula is wrong :-) The formula represents just a limit of accumulated loss caused by an infinite number of two-way reflections
