I suspect the connections between the front panel and the main board are an issue. Try reseating those white cable connectors at both ends and see if you get a better response from the controls. Ever

Cleaning the connectors on the interconnection cables is a good start and very good suggestion. Some type of contact cleaner will also assist. Remember on contact cleaner, "LEAST IS BEST" don't drown

Hi Steve, No, you do not need the battery to operate the Paragon...only to save the memories and time (and mode and frequency when it was last shut down). Try without the battery and see what happens
