Guys, Does anyone here have any experienced with vertical phased arrays? In particular, I would be interested in the equilateral triangle configuration. Per Capt Paul H Lee, two vertical elements wit

The best place to get answers on antenna questions is on the Tower Talk reflector. In my opinion, the best place to get informed information on vertical radiators is from a site where it's owner is t

Jim, My 160 array at the new QTH is two inverted L's with about 55' vertical spaced 1/4 wave and fed with the 90 degree ports of a Comtek 4 square controller for a switchable cardioid pattern. On-air

Stuart, What a treasure trove! Thanks for the reference. I've book-marked it and I'll spend a lot of time browsing there. So far I haven't found any phased array info there, but who cares! Jim ______

The "nulls" are not really null. In my case, the southern null points at west MS, east TX, and I work everyone who is on there in the contests. Signal strengths are equal in the "nulls", regardless o

The nulls would also be very deep even on 160 as long as all the antennas and grounds are almost identical. I am building a receive only 4 square with 31 foot verticals for 160 and 80. The informatio

My take on antenna nulls from arrays comes from playing with extra large Horizontal Loops at Field Day, up to 1200 feet of wire circumference! Classic modeling shows nulls in the multi lobed patterns

Stuart, that's a good point. I began using the horizontal loop in field day over 25 years ago, Initially there were lots of people challenging the theory of the antenna (with nulls and all). But they

Rick, Yes, I am amazed, even when I point out the models done by L. B. Cebik, W4RNL on horizontal loops, how many do not understand them, or read the literature to find out they have other angles of
