I'm using a Pro-Am mobile whip mounted on a wooden utility pool on the corner of my Levitt house. It's for 30 meters. I have 4 radials cut for it, 1/4 wave of 30 meters. It works fine with my MFJ Ver

Probably will work (as in tune and radiate), but you will have RF on the outside of the coax because the none resonant near 1/2 wave radials won't act like a ground plane. 73, Jerry, K0CQ -- Entire c

No need to re cut radials. Since 30M 1/4w is longer than 17M 1/4w, it will work fine. Good luck, Jim Miller, K4SQR http://www.comteksystems.com 4-Square Experts, Stack Yagi & Remote Antenna Switching

Your 30m radials are close to a 1/2 wave on 17m and would therefore exhibit a high impedance to the 17m energy. I believe it would be best to attach a minimum of two ea. 1/4 wave, 17m radials and run

it will work, the antenna being a mobile whip is proably about only 15 ohms, you'll have rf no matter what you do , yes it will work without cuttiing the radials 73's john ku3g im Miller <k4sqr@juno.

Yes, the transmatch should handle that OK. The radials are for a lower band and will function as a ground screen does to an extent on higher bands. 73, Stuart K5KVH

If you are concerned about your antenna system resonating at 17m using your current radial system. I would suggest the purchase of the TT 1251 RF Counterpoise Tuner for $59 bucks. It works great for

Let's keep in mind that radials in physical contact with the earth are essentially non-resonant; their length is of importance only to the extent that collectively they form an effective ground scree

George, You could not of said it any clearer. That's exactly my experience also with radials. I have a very unique vertical that I use on 80, 75, 40, and 30 meters. It is a 60 foot vertical wire runn
