are there some do's and don'ts on maintaining the fan in the Titan ?? It's seems to be making lot of noise , or should i say it's not as smooth as it used to be , and the case conducts the vibrations
Hi Bill, I'm not sure there is anything written about it, but cleaning it sure does help. On my Titan 425, which gave me 12 years of excellent service, I made it a habit in the early fall each year t
My fan had an annoying noise since I bougth it 14 years ago. I replaced it with a bigger fan mounted on the other side of the wall. Tommy, out of curiosity - you said the Titan gave you excellent ser
Hi Henrik, I still have the Titan 425, but right now it's blowing 20 amp fuses in the power supply, which probably means the tubes are shot. Just have not had time to trouble shoot it yet. But this i
Hi All, I have an original Titan that has not been used for about10 years. I am now very concerned that the PSU might have problems if I was to power it up. I do remember that my fan was rather noisy
tim, My issue is not with the air flow , but the mechanical noise , which is coupled to my cabinet... so I'll do the usual fan cleaning, then check out the fan's mounting... not interested in messing
Tim, I just tested a Titan425 for a friend of mine. He had it sitting in his closet for 14 years!! Removed the tubes. Used a computer pc card flange to over ride the interlock switches on the amp uni
Some people will use a variable autotransformer (Variac, Powerstat, or whatever) to bring up the primary voltage on the power transformer slowly. I have heard that this helps to rebuild the electrol
This fan noise has come up before. Modification of the mouting to the chassis to use rubber edging and grommets under the bolt hardware should go a long way to reduce mechanical noise coupling. Stuar
Tommy, more likely a diode or capacitor in power supply is cause of the short circuit indicated by 20 amp fuse blowing. Stuart K5KVH _______________________________________________ TenTec mailing lis
Thanks Stuart. A shorted tube will do the same thing. Tommy W4BQF Tommy, more likely a diode or capacitor in power supply is cause of the short circuit indicated by 20 amp fuse blowing. Stuart K5KVH
