Gary, I use telephone four wire hookup wire from key to keyer and coax from keyer to my Omni VI Plus. Used the exact same setup on my Delta 580 before that. No problems with either set-up with either

I use RG-174 coax (the real small stuff) because I had a roll of it. It makes a neat and tidy keyer lead. A shielded lead of some sort makes sense and certainly can't hurt. I've never had any problem
