Buy an NC-183D or an SX-28. Or an R-390, if you must (with something like an Eico HF-20 for audio). Nothing plays SWBC like a pair of 6V6's in P-P. And you get the "glow" to go along with it. Kiddin

Do R-390s have push-pull 6V6s? I think not. I know that BC-779, BC-1004 and many Super-Pros do have push-pull 6V6s. I have always wanted a SP-600, yet I wonder what kind of audio final it has. Anyone

Actually, I didn't say it did. Reread my comment (included below) about the Eico HF-20, which is actually a pair of 6L6s. The HF-20 would be connected to the diode load on the 390 or 390A. The SP-60

Hi Grant, Actually, I didn't say you said that R-390s have push-pull anythings. Thanks for the info on SP-600 AF PA. Anyway, I think we both have similar tastes in receivers. I started with a BC-779

Yes, a firmware upgrade might be in order. On the Paragon, I can step through the memories using the main tuning knob. How does the Argonaut V step through the memories? 73, Bob WB2VUF ______________
