What about the more uncommon brands? Outside of Tek, B&K, Sencore are a number of more high end and less expensive scopes. I am sort of "Joe average" ham - build some, design a little, and want to de

If its not Tek or HP and if its HP before the 1740, its not really a scope that works well and reliably. Yes there were pretenders but their products tended to be poor with poor bandwidths and lousy

Michael.....You are right on your line of thought. You don't need the scopes everyone is rattling off model numbers. I worked for HP for over 15 years, and was given a high-end 275 Mhz scope to keep.

Jerry: Is the HP 1745 a good'un then? I have had a 1745, with two TEK P6131 10X passive probes for a few years, but was unable to find a manual for it when first bought it, and have not tried for a w

Outside of Tek and HP, there simply isn't much that passes as a useful scope. Phillips and Hitachi both made some OK scopes, but B&K, Leader, and Sencore never did IMO. The lesser scopes don't trigge

I find the input on this subject most informative. I'm inexperienced in using scopes, but recently picked up a TEK 321 which, from all indications, seems to be working. However, you never know what y

I'm not finding any of the "good ones" for $100 or less anywhere. Most are $150-200 and freight, or in fairly bad shape (as in really beat up) with the owners statement "lights up." Mike, k5wmg Pipe
