followed instructions in the TenTec manual and have pins 2 and 3 and 7 on the DB 25 going to the DB 9 . DB 9 has pins 4 and 6 shorted. Followed directions in N1MM for Omni VI - 1200 baud etc.  Pin 5

You need pins 2, 3, and 5. on the db9. You need pins 2, 3, and whatever the pin is for ground on the db 25. Thats all. 1200 baud is way too low for the 6. Set the baud to maximum. Ed W3NR ___________
