Good news, bad news on your suggestion to use two separate baluns for the job. The good news is, your suggestion to use two baluns is a great idea. The bad news is, even though you probably concluded

Golly, no. I thought Rick mentioned that, and posted a ink to a photo of one he uses. On the other hand, I am under the impression a well made balun on a sufficiently large and appropriate formula fe

Based on 25 ft of RG-213 at 30 MHz the loss will be about 0.3 dB. Lower frequencies will be less. 73 Bob, K4TAX -- Disclosure: I am a Tentec Ambassador and compensated according to the Tentec Ambassa

Who did they name that Balun after, Bob? (hi) I used the Ugly Balun from 2007 until 2010 at my QTH in Oklahoma. PERFECT EXAMPLE of where a 4:1 balun is crap; I was running 700w into shortened vertica

ER... um ... I think I can tell you. ;-) Spiderbeam masts! Which are just about the best available for this sort of thing. Not only are they pretty tough, but they come in ridiculously LONG models -
