I had a 129 foot dipole fed with CATV coax. It did ok, but where the aluminum met the copper, it oxidized and I have been suffering with AM broadcast band bleedover on all frequencies below 14 MHz. I
Buck, something isn't right. A properly constructed and tuned balanced feed line antenna should be less likely to generate TVI than a coax fed antenna because there should be little or no radiation f
tuned balanced than a coax fed from the feed There isn't much difference at all if any. The radiation comes from common mode currents, and either could have problems. Actually twinlead radiates slig
The tuner is the TenTec 247. The problem is everywhere on the TV. The balun is a toroid wrapped in wire inside the tuner. It is also causing noise on 2 meters occasionally. Nope! It is on all channe
If possible I would do away with the balun and run 400-600 ohm line all the way to the tuner, and use a balanced tuner. Also there are some 300 ohm TV twin lead out there that are quite lossy so that
The balun is built inside the tuner. I don't have resources to go buy another tuner, etc. This is the low-loss stuff. I figure it is less lossy for the higher frequencies than coax would be. Thanks B
Let me take a stab at this. Due to the fact that your TVI is on all channels everywhere in your house, a lot of causes are rulled out. It probable doesn't have anything to do with the fact you change
the TV. The balun I've worked on or desigend a lot of tuners, but not that one. I'd need to know more about the balun. The TT tuners I could find use 4:1 baluns, and that generally means they are vo
"Outside it hangs from the antenna, drops to about a foot above the ground and comes into my window along with several pieces of coax. It goes under my desk about 6-8 feet and wraps back to the top t
I agree with Jan here, that is what I have and it works excellent, better than any other dipole and even better than my loop....which was probably not up high enough...homebrew your own balanced tune
Buck, You have made no mention of the ground connection to the tuner. Have you checked it? 73, Bob, W5AH _______________________________________________ See: http://www.mscomputer.com for "Self Suppo
