John, The issue may be more related to the length of mast you have to work with here. The Rohn 45AG4 ( flat top section ) as I recall has the location close to the top where the accessory plate/shelf

John you need a 2nd thrust bearing and the correct mast,be it 4130 chrome molly or what ever.I run 45G with the 1st bearing on the top section.The second bearing is midway down the top section. Then

We have installed second thrust bearings on all the towers here (4) and this has paid in dividends when replacing a rotor not to mention probably the mechanical advantage of supporting the mast when
