I am undecided if I should use a 1/2 wave dipole @ 125 feet or a 1/4 wave vertical. i could raise the feedpoint of the vertical about 50 feet above the ground with a half dozen sloped radials. Any id

Use em both, then keep the one that works the best. Probably your best bet will be to get an antenna switch and keep them both N4fx I am undecided if I should use a 1/2 wave dipole @ 125 feet or a 1/

That is very good advice! On 40, I have a vertical dipole and a delta loop. Propagation changes, and what is louder on the dipole will be louder on the loop in a few minutes. 73 Tom W7WHY Use em both
