-- Hi Paul, An 80 meter dipole will work quite well on 30 meters, all you need is a tuner. No traps needed. However, if you do not have a tuner... Cut your 30 meter dipole to length per the usual for

You don't need to trap an 80 mtr dipole for 30 mtrs. 30 is an odd harmonic of 80 and will the antenna will resonate there as is, no problemo. I used an 80 mtr 1/4 wave sloper on 30 for years & it did

The 80 meter dipole works surprisingly well on 17 and 12 meters as well, on the 5th and 7th harmonics. 73 de k5gw -- FAQ on WWW: http://www.contesting.com/towertalkfaq.html Submissions: towertalk@con

As has been already stated, an 80M dipole makes a GREAT WARC Band Antenna if it is reasonably flat (horizontal). It is nearly 3/2 wavelengths (WL) on 30M, almost exactly 5/2 WL on 17M and almost exac

At what height please do you have your dipole(s)? I imagine that will make a significant difference in performance. Thanks! & 73, DavidC K1YP -- FAQ on WWW: http://www.contesting.com/towertalkfaq.htm

I once had an 80 meter dipole and wanted to operate on 30 meters also. What I did was hang a 30 meter dipole of the same center feeder of the 80 meter one. You might have to jockey things around to g
