- I have a couple of boxes of Ideal brand hose clamps, labeled "all-stainless". But when I check the bolts with a magnet, they do show some magnetism. As I recall, there was a thread on here last year

- Some stainless steels can be magnetic. On the other hand, I have purchased 'all-stainless' hose clamps from Home Depot which are NOT all-stainless. The cheapo plating falls off the screw easily when

- magnetic? Yes, there are different grades of stainless and some are "more stainless" than others. We use these things by the truckload in our industry and have found a very good brand to be Norton.

- Just a quick follow up. Go over to the tool section and borrow some magnetic tool. Test the clamps with it. A good "all stainless" clamp will not be attracted to the magnet AT ALL. 73 - JC,k0hps@ams
