I'd like to back up the single bolt that ties the equalizer plates to the guy anchor eye, but I don't see a handy way to do it, since the eq plates cover the eye on the anchor rod pretty much complet

The utility companies have a clamp-on attachment for adding extra guys to an existing anchor. Perhaps you can get some of those from a utility, or supplier, or even a line crew. Tom N4KG ____________

Welding would more than likely weaken the anchor rod...and besides that, welding gavanized metal will produce some very harmful gases and it will spatter like crazy. Not recommended IMHO. 73, Charlie
